Umm al-Qura calendar. Local moon sighting can move a date by a day.
These tools calculate; they do not rule. Where your mosque, local authority or scholar says otherwise, follow them.
How it works
Dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar, the official Saudi calendar, calculated in your browser. The Hijri year is about eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year, so each day moves earlier every year.
Many countries begin a month on local moon sighting rather than calculation, so a date here can differ from your country's by a day. Nights marked 'the night before' begin at sunset on the previous evening.
Questions
When is Laylat al-Qadr?
It is sought in the last ten nights of Ramadan, most often on the odd-numbered nights; the 27th is shown here because it is the most widely observed.
Why does my country announce Eid on a different day?
Because it waits for the new moon to be sighted locally. Follow your country's announcement; this calendar is a planning guide.
